Dicyandiamide (DCD) is a nitrification inhibitor, mainly used to slow down the process of ammonium nitrogen converting to nitrate in soil, thus improving the utilization rate of nitrogen fertilizer, reducing nitrogen loss and greenhouse gas emissions.

The application of DCD can reduce the negative effects of GO exposure on soil bacterial biomass and reduce the emission of N2O in the, although graphene oxide may hinder the inhibition of DCD.
